Within a few days others had also commented they had come across the same scam.

Here's the bigger, better, faster list of websites we are blocking in SiteHound. So avoid these sites at all costs. They will rip you off by either not sending any of the goods ordered or sending counterfeit cheap knock offs. I'd also add I've not verified every single site, though I have checked a good deal manually. Some of the websites too have already disappeared so they have already been shut down..etc..

Many many thanks to the folks over at (their website is currently offline) for allowing our list and their list to become combined, it's meant a further 2300+ sites have been added and the list of websites is now over 3700. To view their website, check out the link above, they truly are a great resource in assistance and detection of internet scams.
Websites are in this list for a variety of different reasons. Here's some of my criteria I use.
* It's believed or has been commented that goods ordered were never shipped* It's believed or has been commented that goods ordered were counterfeit
* Fake information was provided when the website was registered* Fake information is provided on the website* The website bears similarities to other websites matching above criteria* They were included by FraudWatchers
Please, do not ask me about why websites are in the list. I've just told you why they are. If you wish to do business with this website still, then you have every right to do so. Though we think anyone who does after seeing this is stupid.
Please comment below if you have any more sites to add to the list, or also if you have become a victim of these criminals (you should also report to your local police)

My advice for the time being is to contact your local authorities, and also if you paid by bank transfer talk to your bank. I think though there is little they can do.
I'll try to get more information Monday.

Yes, everyone I have talked to so far seems to suggest your money may be lost, however they all also say to contact local police to lodge a complaint. So would definitely suggest doing this, as it creates a history and relevant evidence can be obtained.

I am in negotiations with this company about supplying me with mobile phones but I think they are a scam. What do you think? This is your website address, they are on ecvv as gold suppliers.
replyHi there Yes, I wouldSubmitted by chris on Thu, 2007-08-30 10:23.Hi there
Yes, I would avoid this company. Firstly I cannot find any other web presence of this company except their profile on sites like

Secondly, check out their phone number, then compare that phone number with these other companies.
Wushi Shoes Trade Co.Ltd

china fujian trade-wu. Co

FuJian wus Shoes Co.Ltd

So you need to ask yourself, why would they have many company names, that detail they were setup in different years. Why wouldn't they have a website of their own.
My suspicion is the goods supplied by this company are either counterfeit or refurbished. Of course, they may be an outright scam too. But nothing about what I can see leads me to think they are legitimate.

Sending them loads of emails isn't really advised, as firstly, it's quite easy to filter out email. And secondly, it may be in violation of your Terms and Service agreement with your ISP. Given the size of your loss, I would definitely contact your local authorites as well. The Australian Federal Police investigate such cases. Check out

But their website was only registered since January 2007.
replyHello, thank you for thisSubmitted by Sophie (not verified) on Wed, 2007-09-19 20:11.Hello,
thank you for this great webpage.
Actually, I was looking for specific sport shoes, and by searching with google, I arrived to those 2 websites :, and buying anything from them, I decided to make a research about those websites, and I reached your webpage and some others.
First of all, I wanted to inform you that those 2 websites are in reality the same (same owner, same address in China...). On those 2 sites are also mentioned other webpages :,, which are on your list.So I was wondering if those 2 sites shouldn't also be in your list ? I know that they propose credit card payments and that their e-mail addresses are not hotmail or yahoo, but it seems strange to me that their website ends with a ".net" and not a ".com" as they present themselves as a business site. What is your opinion about that ?
Then I also wanted to mention that Kyrya, who sent the first comment concerning, cited some other suspicious websites which are not on your lits :- she cited "", while on your list there is ""- she cited "", while on your list there is ""- she cited "", which does not appear on your list
Thanks again for your initiative, which is very helpful.Sophie

replyThis website bears far tooSubmitted by chris on Wed, 2007-08-01 00:23.This website bears far too many similarities to the other websites mentioned above, and I could only say that it is a scam.
As well as the reasons you give, consider the following as well.
The domain was registered on the 12th July 2007, and only for one year.
The website uses hotmail email addresses for contact.
When the domain was registered, fake information was given. e.g. Tel: 86 010 12345678

So yes, avoid this website.

replyHi Scam. Here's my reasonsSubmitted by chris on Fri, 2007-08-03 00:54.Hi
Scam. Here's my reasons why I say this.
The three contact email addresses I can find use Hotmail, Yahoo, and 163, who all offer free email addresses. Surely a professional organisation wouldn't use such services.
The About page on this website says the company was established in 2000, however this particular website name wasn't registered until 20th March 2007.
In their policy page, they indicate for the transaction to use Western Union, Moneygram, or direct Bank transfer. Note there is no Credit Card payment option. Why ? Well it's because with a Credit Card payment, you as the purchaser have a right to reverse the charge back (useful in instances of fraud etc..) and the Credit Card provider in turn charges the merchant the purchase amount, plus an extra fee. If you pay by Money Order or Bank Transfer, once those funds have cleared, they are gone, and you have little options in getting the money back.
Lastly not to mention the manner and wording in which they contacted you is virtually identical to the methods used by known scam operators.

replyHi f I can tell you thatSubmitted by chris on Sat, 2007-08-04 00:38.Hi f
I can tell you that their low prices make this too good to be true.
I can tell you that their methods listed to contact (free Hotmail accounts etc..) is extremely suspicious
I can tell you that their ugly ugly website, with many spelling mistakes is extremely suspicious
I can tell you that the contact details they used when registering this domain name is extremely suspicious
I can tell you that the domain was registered 1st April this year, though on the website itself it says 2006
I can tell you that they don't accept Credit Cards makes this extremely suspicious

Looking at it this way, based on the above, what's right about this website ? Please take a moment, read the comments below and also the comments here and you'll soon see exactly what kind of operation this is.

Very soon you can expect to stop hearing from them and they won't answer your queries. If there's a chance to cancel the money you sent I would do so immediately. You should also consider filing a complaint with local police, the police may well be quite dismissive, but if you are persistent, they will hopefully forward on to their fraud team.

replyHi there Can you reply andSubmitted by chris on Mon, 2007-08-06 11:08.Hi there
Can you reply and tell us how you came to know of Did they contact you, did you find through a web search etc..
We are going with scam. Here's why...
Their copyright information says "Copyright © 2005-2007 A.T.S. Telematica Srl" however the website wasn't registered until the 27th May 2007.
Their contact information for the website registration is hidden by a service known as Domains By Proxy. There's no reason a legitimate electronics wholesaler though would hide this information though, and to do so is suspicious.
A Google search on the website name reveals very little information. Certainly nothing in English...however a German speaking friend of mine had a look at this page which is a warning from a user who paid by Credit Card, then realised there was no address listed and the phone number didn't exist, so they cancelled the payment. The company then tried to get the money from this person through PayPal, but again, no phone number or address.
The other discussions that my friend also translated highlighted a lot of user caution and suspicion, but we cannot yet find any satisfied customers.
Understand the logic here too. You are ordering from a company in Italy, which orders the goods from the manufacturers who deliver it straight to you. And they can do this and still pay only wholesale prices ? Not likely
So based on all this, I'm saying scam.

As you can see there is one user who says the site is good. But as the user who posted this hasn't posted since, I'm suspicious. I mean, they signed up specifically to say the website is good, but never offer any more posts into the community.
Looking at the website itself, again we see hardly any proper contact information. No phone number etc..
They are also relying on free services such as Hotmail, 163 etc..which anyone can sign up for.
Again the lack of a proper online shoppping cart, which likely means they won't accept Credit Cards, is also something of concern.
However, where it gets funny is their home page. Check it out, have a read of the text that talks about their business. Now check out this website
It sounds familiar...and it should, it's a word for word replication :)
But then check out the Contact page on this other site, entirely different address, fake phone numbers.
So nah, this just doesn't add up at all. If you were in fact to receive any goods, they'llbe counterfeit. However my advice is do not buy from anywhere overseas unless they take Credit Card.
replyHi Chris Thanks for creatingSubmitted by Robin (not verified) on Thu, 2007-08-09 04:20.Hi Chris
Thanks for creating this site good on you man.
I have been scammed by for 450AUD, they kept on making excuses and changing their names and stating that he was someone elese but i knew him because i spoke to him every night begging him to send it but was i a fool. I just got ripped.....
There is another site to add to your list its want to know how on earth do these scum bags get away with this? Isnt there anyone that will throw them in jail.
The funniest thing is that said to me "Im sorry for doing this robin but i have to feed my family" i was shocked.
Thanx Chris
replyFeed my familySubmitted by chris on Thu, 2007-08-09 04:43.Feed my family indeed... my hairy
Thanks for letting me know about sweet-sell, I'll check it out as usually finding one new site let's me find others.

As for how do they get away with it. Several reasons.
1. Apathy - Many people who become victims of these scams take it as being a "lesson", rather than a criminal act. As a result they may not report to their local police.
2. Their Local Police - May have a dismissive attitude of such crimes, essentially seeing it as 'buyer beware'. Show them a list of 1200+ websites though, details of many victims, and attitudes do shift, in which case they can forward it up the ladder to higher authorities.
3. Higher Authorities - I can't answer why they are seemingly doing nothing, obviously it needs to be investigated, passed to the Chinese authorities, who in turn will do their own local investigation, pass it up the ladder to their....argh. You get the drift though.
Lastly, it is you who is liable. If Ebay or your Bank, or some other financial institution was liable for these losses, this scam would have been shut down a long time ago.

replyHello: I wish I read yourSubmitted by jurassic (not verified) on Thu, 2007-08-09 16:35.Hello:
I wish I read your post earlier. I need your feedback. I recently bid and won a GPS (Tomtom 910, item#250133091829) from ebay. This guys is from (which is in your chinese-scam list) Right after I won the item, I got email from the seller asking to pay him using Wired Bank Transfer or Western Union.
I did suspect about this guy because :
1) His bank account shows he is in China. 2) His email is from (Frace).3) And his item (Tomtom 910) is located in Hong Kong.4) He has no feedback (history) from any buyers as seller.
Unfortunately, I was desperate getting TomTom 910. I sent my money $349 Cnd on June 22nd 2007 through TD Canada Trust Wired Bank Transfer,After few days, I realized that this is a scam. He is not sending GPS to me because this is a fraud listing. The userid : “takifa” has been possessed by the cyber criminal.
Couple days later, June 24th 2007 ebay sent email to me and that saying that
"Our records indicate that you received an email from jdwoab through our Contact eBay Member or Ask Seller a Question feature. Please be aware that the email might contain a fraudulent offer to purchase or sell an item outside of eBay. We recommend not responding to the sender because the email might be an attempt to obtain your email address."
Well that was too late. I already sent out my money. But Mr Silverment, this is not about that money that I lost, a BIGGER threat and concern with EBAY Fraud Listing. I strongly believed now Ebay is a dangerous market place and ebay's Fraud listing will cost anybody badly. I already reported to Ebay but I will never get my money back in any way.
Why? Here is why…
I found out over 100+ listing (range from Cellphone, Camera, GPS, games consoles (PS3 ) ) that are CURRENTLY listing as fraud and EBAY has NOT yet ‘suspended’ of of the listing. (therefore more people will transfer their money using Wired transfer or Western Union)
These sell items listed on Ebay have following similarities.
1) Seller has very few 'feedback'. (1-10 feedback) and has not have activities (buy/sell) since prior year 2007.
2) Seller location registration is different that the item- location.Example So you will see"memeber since 11-Mar-05 in France""item location : Victoria BC, china"(yes, you will see the city and country does even matches)
3)Seller post 6-8 of the same item for sell at the same time(approximately 1 mins difference of each listing)
4)Price are range from $149-$448 cdn. (Usually are listed in either EUR dollar or US dollar)
*****Most important these sellers’ ebay' accounts were 'hacked' and are being used by cyber-criminal.****
How do I know? Simple …
Here are the July 9th 2007 Fraud Listing that I have found and all have 3 similarities.

I too was affected by it just last week when someone's ebay password was phished and these people 'sold' me a TomTom 910. Interestingly they are all asking for money to be wired to accounts at the Bank of China, Beijing Branch. So it seems that it must be very easy for someone to set up accounts with them without much verification.
Why don't we all write to the Bank and see why these frauds are taking place under their noses !

replyHi Guys, hmmm. Embarrassed?Submitted by Gary (not verified) on Thu, 2007-08-09 19:05.Hi Guys, hmmm. Embarrassed? Yes I am, feeling stupid? Yes. It seems I'm in the right place. I recently was stung big time. Paying out nearly 900euros for a camera. The site in question is (add this to your list).Same old story, will only take WU as payment or PayPal if over 1000euro to which you would lose half. Even sent me a tracking ID and the picture of the dispatch note. Next thing I knew, they are telling me some finance person has run off with my money, not before asking me for an extra 'customs charge', so were asking me to pay more until they caught the person in question. Obviously I got caught in a moment of madness, thought I'd found a decent company, but yet again you can't trust anyone. I will continue to battle with them. Any ideas of how to report the site in question? Thanks very much......

replyHi I've come across theseSubmitted by chris on Sat, 2007-08-11 01:49.Hi
I've come across these B2B sites often, and it's safe to say that many of these scam sites have listed themselves on trade sites. That's not to say the trade site itself is bad, but consider they are really only a medium for businesses to contact each other and as such you should assume they have no specific knowledge on the website and it's credibility. Ideally if you are a reseller or retailer you can research the website/company you are looking to buy from and hopefully find other people who have traded with that company. If it were me I would refuse to pay by Money Order, or Direct bank Transfer, and only Credit Card. At least that way, if it's a scam and no goods arrive, or they are counterfeit when you assumed they were geniune articles, you have recourse to recover your losses. Unless someone explains otherwise, I see no reason why you couldn't pay by Credit Card.

replyAlthough I have never boughtSubmitted by TA (not verified) on Mon, 2007-08-13 00:58.Although I have never bought anything from these scammers, I have been the victim of their unsolicited email crap in my eBay listings. They pretend they are asking a question related to the item, and use a hijacked eBay inactive account that has a one rating.
I would like to make a couple of suggestions to anyone who has been a victim from fruadulent websites. It's not enough to contact the local police (or eBay, etc.). You need to be pro-active and take measures to try and stop the illegal activity.
First, go to the website and note the I.P. address that is hosting the account. Then go to, do a search on the I.P. address, and find out who is hosting the account. You will see an email address in the listing on where to report the problem (usually it will say "". The hosting companies have a policy in place that prevents illegal activities. (Your firewall will list the I.P. address.)
Second, Microsoft also has "terms of service" regarding the Hotmail and MSN email accounts. Report the users to Microsoft immediately. You can send an email to "". They have a phone number but I have never tried it (800-386-5550).
Third, you can go to "", look at the bottom of the homepage for "whois" and find out who the owner is for the website domain name. If the account information if protected by "Domains By Proxy", it will list who the proxy is and contact them. Both the Proxy and the Domain Hosting company have terms that prevent illegal activities.
This may seem like alot of work, but I did all of this on "" just now and it took less than 5 minutes. At some point we have to start fighting back against all this illegal activity. If you just let it go and do nothing, they will continue and grow. And if you think one complaint to the hosting company or Microsoft won't help, you're wrong, and if everyone who has been scammed complains, the evidence will be hard to ignore.
Thank you for your support, and good luck!

Copyright: 2001-2005
Again, makes no sense, especially when we look at the date this website was registered.
Creation Date........ 2007-06-15 11:42:20
No prices, No secure payment methods, the usual Hotmail contact addresses.
Let me ask you this, did you indicate to them you would buy more items if you were satisfied with the one you ordered ? Are you certain the item you purchased is geniune and not counterfeit or just reconditioned to look new ?

replyChriss, jersey2008 is linkedSubmitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Tue, 2007-08-14 12:52.Chriss, jersey2008 is linked with a trusted pass seller who is verified by "Authenticatedand Verified byHuaxia D&B China on Jul 10,2007" . Yes i did metion i was going to purchase more. What i am going to try, is i will ask the seller to send me some items, with a tracking number once they have cleared into Australia then i will pay the money. If not, he will lose my business.

replyGreat site Chris, i haveSubmitted by Mike (not verified) on Mon, 2007-08-13 13:11.Great site Chris, i have been hit so many times by web addresses mostly in your BIG LIST of scamers. That sentence "if its to good to be true" is true, i have been so tempted to buy many times, but just couldn't do it for fear of loosing my hard earned money, i even befriended a Chinese lady on the net and asked if she could check out some of these companies by going to their office addresses, she came back to say they did not exist at these addresses, i even offered to pay for her time but she refused(their not all scamers ). One more thing with the telephone numbers, in China you can have a mobile phone number that has the characteristics of a land (or office) line.I have since been to China and i could find nothing Cheep, maybe a slight reduction in most electronic goods (around 5% to 10%) and some cheep memory for my camera, but no point in buying anything, for the cost of transport and warranty problems you'd better buy local. I notice you repeat yourself so many times about how to check a scam site, maybe you should write up the "rules" and say READ THIS FIRST, its not hard for people to do themselves. CHEERS
replyNice post Mike. ISubmitted by chris on Tue, 2007-08-14 04:02.Nice post Mike. I especially like the efforts you made to ensure you weren't a victim, I also assume you are a reseller or retailer of some kind. Or just very very thorough.
Regarding Chinese not all being scammers. Absolutely, and I hope I've not come across in this manner, as to do would be a disgrace.
The point you make about prices not being that different in China is a great one. They really aren't, perhaps too often we are told China is the source of all that's cheap, perhaps we imagine small children assembling our Air Jordan shoes. But, and I don't enjoy saying this, greed is a factor here, and it leads to greater apathy when approaching these sites. "If it's too good to be true, then it probably is" could not have a better demonstration than these websites, but innately we want to get a bargain, and unfortunately we ignore our own common sense.
I wasn't aware of the ability to have a mobile number that has all the appearances of a land line, that makes things more difficult. Let's hope there's no reason for me to maintain this list in a few weeks. But I doubt that.
Lastly, the Guide. Very much something I intend to do, and in many repsects it will be much easier to complete now that I'm seeing so many comments. There's no point trying to explain anything if I don't understand who I'm trying to explain it to.

replyThis website is quiteSubmitted by chris on Tue, 2007-08-14 03:28.This website is quite different than the others, certainly I wouldn't say it's a scam straight away which I tend to do.
My personal belief is what you are buying is either reconditioned, or counterfeit, maybe not so illegal in Hong Kong or China, but still reason enough to avoid everywhere else.
Also they only accept non-secure payment methods, again Western Union, Bank Transfer, so why set yourself up for potential headaches.

Can you clarify their situation for me please as its awfully confusing. Many thanksjeany
replyIf it's too good to be true,Submitted by chris on Thu, 2007-08-16 01:48.If it's too good to be true, then it probably is.
Your welcome to make your purchase, but based on the comments from others being ripped off, or receiving counterfeit items, and given you'll have no recourse to get your money back if you are scammed, why would you ?

replyThe website was created 30thSubmitted by chris on Thu, 2007-08-16 02:32.The website was created 30th March 2007, and is registered to a Qiang Gao living in the US, Mountain View, California to be exact. Click here to see a map highlighting said apartment.
Down the bottom of the website you will notice icons for all major Credit Cards.
A good sign.
But, their payment page makes no mention of Credit Cards.
A bad sign.
All in all, I'd say either scam or counterfeit.

Looks like a potential scam site, could be legit.
I told them I might be going to Beijing, they said your welcome to come to our store. (I've now decided to go to Hong Kong.)
But am still interested in buying from them... can someone tell me if they are legit or a scam please???
replyCould be legit why ? NoSubmitted by chris on Thu, 2007-08-16 02:47.Could be legit why ?
No buyer protection, they have used misleading dates, free email addresses. The fact that they are pretty much identical to 1500 other websites, which many are scamming people.
replyhi chris , i just want toSubmitted by cindy (not verified) on Thu, 2007-08-16 09:49.hi chris , i just want to know , why you will think our website is scam website in your list , this is cindy , from china .we all is honor on our business , i can show you many tracking number which we shipment to all over the world if you want , pls do not destroy our website reputation .
replyCindy. Your website sellsSubmitted by chris on Thu, 2007-08-16 10:54.Cindy.
Your website sells counterfeit items.
Your website offers customers no payment protection. When something goes wrong, you just block their MSN.
Right now there are hundreds of sites, just the same as yours, selling more conterfeit junk, or not sending anything at all. And the victims of your criminal acts cannot do anything, they cannot get their money back.
You may feel that you have been wronged, but hundreds of victims all over the world, would say otherwise. Just read the comments here from all these people who have been robbed.
Who are we to believe, when you tell us you are legitimate. Yet people say they have been robbed.

Cindy, you are hurting people by selling these counterfeit items. There are people like you, who take our money, and not send us anything. You hurt us by doing this.

So no Cindy, your website has no reputation to destroy. You like all these others are the ones damaging your own reputation by selling fake items, and ripping off hard working innocent victims.
